A Chicago man allegedly working a simple credit card scam may have aimed a little too high when he got credit card accounts from Hollywood stars, including Ben Stiller, David Duchovny and Paul Haggis, director of the Oscar-winning film "Crash."

When the man allegedly tried to work the same angle on the accounts of directors Noah Brumbach and Paul Schrader, officials at Citibank got suspicious when the cards were sent to the same address, a small apartment on Chicago's South Side, according to a report by Chicagobreakingnews.com.

Adedamola Olatunji was charged with forgery, mail fraud, theft, aggravated identity theft and computer fraud after authorities said he told an undercover agent from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service that he was Schrader and that Brumbach was in another part of the apartment. Olatunji allegedly used Stiller's account to pay for his iTunes music purchases and fees for an online dating site.

The 29-year-old Nigerian man allegedly also tried to buy several thousand dollars worth of goods on the cards and send them to a friend in the United Kingdom.

"Obviously, the bank has some issues they've got to straighten out," a person familiar with the investigation said. "The guy calls up with a foreign accent and says: 'Hey, I'm Ben Stiller, I lost my card. Can you send me a new one?' Oh. Sure, why not?"
